Place the guest in the host's place.

Interpretation:

If you want to achieve dominance
And be able to decide
Find the entrance and gain trust,
And then move forward.

A person from the servants serves others, and the guest takes the place of honor. A guest who sits firmly in his place will stay for a long time. A random guest behaves insecurely. If the guest is not offered participation in the affairs of the owner, then he is not respected. However, a guest who participates in these matters is able to achieve power and become a real host.
The trick to "gradual adoption" means that you have to compete to be the boss. You need to find the entrance, enter the house, achieve dominance and join your opponent’s army, becoming the master.

Historical example:

The ruler of the Chen inheritance had a son, who was named Chen Wan. The court soothsayer predicted that the boy would live a rich life and become the founder of a new dynasty that would own another kingdom.

When Chan Wen was twenty years old, a palace coup began in his kingdom. He had to flee to the neighboring kingdom of Qi and take a new family name, Tian. He received the position of caretaker of the palace workshops. In the new kingdom, Tian achieved great success. He combined a sharp mind and virtue, and also knew how to make the right decisions. Over the following generations, many high-ranking dignitaries emerged from the Tian family. They won good fame among the people because they accepted taxes in small amounts, while they themselves paid taxes and sold grain in large amounts. The peasants could breathe a sigh, freed from unfair exactions, and rejoice at the fair distribution of resources. Ordinary people were ready to give their lives for such generous rulers, who were constantly increasing their influence.

The most prominent was Tian Zhang, who wanted to change the structure of society. Tian Zhang rebelled, defeated the most powerful clans of the Qi kingdom and killed the ruler. He placed on the throne the younger brother of the murdered sovereign, who was obedient to him. As a result, the Tian family seized full power. They began to rule all the cities and owned large lands. A hundred years later, the Tian family accused the current ruler of debauchery and drunkenness, depriving him of power. The head of the family himself accepted the royal title. The rulers of the neighboring small kingdoms had to recognize him as the legitimate ruler of the kingdom of Qi.
